Green Pizza with Homemade Pesto

Classic pizza always needs a good tomato sauce. We've written a lot about that. But how about a green pizza, using pesto as the base instead of tomato sauce? Here's a recipe for delicious homemade pesto for the pizza. Of course, it also tastes great with pasta or fish.

Pesto verde:

  • 7 tbsp olive oil
  • 80 g hard cheese (Parmesan or Pecorino)
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • 50 g arugula
  •  25 g pine nuts
  •  2 tbsp lemon juice
  •  1/4 tsp salt
  • Chili powder or flakes to taste

Preparation of Pesto:

  • Wash arugula well and shake dry, remove stems
  • Peel garlic cloves and chop finely
  • Grate hard cheese
  • Mix everything together with the remaining ingredients in a blender. Gradually add the olive oil. Don't forget to taste and season.

Toppings:

  • 100 g sun-dried tomatoes - chopped
  • 150 g Parma ham
  • 100 g brown mushrooms
  • 1 zucchini
  • Mozzarella

Additional Toppings:

  •  4 radishes, sliced
  •  50 g pine nuts
  • Olive oil
  • Salt & pepper

Preparation of Pizza:

Spread the pesto on the rolled-out pizza dough. Distribute mushrooms, zucchini, and mozzarella on top and place in the oven until the pizza is crispy to your liking. Then, add the remaining toppings according to your taste and enjoy. Bon appΓ©tit!
