Mangiafuoco newly insulated
The Mangiafuoco from the house of Fontana Forni is a truly classic Italian dome oven with wood firing. It reaches up to 450 degrees and maintains this thanks to its elaborate and high-quality insulation over a long period. This makes it a true all-rounder: the Mangiafuoco reliably bakes antipasti, casseroles, pizza, meat, fish, vegetables, and even bread.
The current model has been revised to store the heat even more reliably. The base construction has been completely revised by Fontana. A further insulation layer in the form of a vermiculite plate has now been inserted under the chamotte plates. This is placed inside the oven directly under the chamotte stone and above a thin air layer. The aim is to increase the temperature resistance of the oven. The advantages are obvious. The additional insulation board keeps the heat stored longer, making it possible to cook and bake over a longer period. At the same time, wood is saved as less reheating is necessary. Overall, this innovation improves the cooking experience and the energy balance of the oven.
