Utilize Restaurant Capacity
The idea arose because the restaurant industry is currently underutilized due to the closures. Aly Hassan, the tenant of Trattoria Aubergine, and Jens Hofacker from La Bottega Toscana came up with the "Pizza for a Good Cause" initiative. "The staff of the Trattoria want to work, but due to the closure, they can only offer takeaway and delivery services, and we have many ingredients in stock that we can't use because no pizza courses are allowed to take place on-site," says Jens Hofacker, "so we had the idea to bake pizza and give it to those who also bear a great burden. And those are also employees in care positions."
The staff of the Trattoria baked the pizza for the employees of the Seniorenheim am Gänsewald and the Seniorenheim St. VINCENZ in Somborn, as well as the Seniorenzentrum Gründau and the Hospiz St. Elisabeth in Gelnhausen. After consultation, the pizza was delivered punctually at shift change, so that as many employees and residents as possible could enjoy a delicious lunch and a welcome change. The pizzas were delivered by the company Taxi Poth from Freigericht - Somborn. The joy about the hot, delicious pizzas was great. And both chefs, Aly Hassan and Fillippo Licciardo, enjoyed working on the Valoriani Verace.
Action Can Be Repeated
Jens Hofacker and Aly Hassan are satisfied with the initiative and glad to have brought joy to the employees of the facilities. "It is conceivable to repeat this initiative for other facilities in the area," says Jens Hofacker.
